# The Dutch East India Company Of The MetaVerse

Who was the Dutch East India Company you might ask? Founded in 1602, it accomplished globalist capitalism 400 years before everyone else. It began as a shipping company (with a 21-year monopoly on the Dutch spice market) before expanding into almost every aspect of the spice trade (production to consumer sales). All while keeping a massive footprint in the shipping industry for more than 100 years. Known under the initials VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie), the Dutch East India Company would be worth about $7.8 trillion today.

Meta DAO will be the Dutch East India Company of the Metaverse. Not just the ships, not just the business contracts, not just the spices and consumer products, not just the labor, and not just the real estate where the ports are located. It’s bigger than that because the Metaverse offers the ability to own the entire world in which the company operates and all transactional points. The creation of the products, the time the workers put in, the consumption from consumers that used the products, the data that’s generated, and everything in between.

Our intent is to grow Meta DAO to levels that shake the foundations of legacy institutions and make asset managers like Black Rock Inc tremble. The Metaverse is the fourth industrial revolution and stands to be the single biggest opportunity of our lifetimes. **The paradigm shift has already started and we, the Meta DAO community, plan to be the creators of this future, not a casualty.**
